An over-the-range (OTR) microwave must suit the cabinet layout, mounting surface and exhaust arrangement. The model’s installation instructions are the best starting point; clear photos help identify questions before arranging a visit.
Identify the exact model
Share the full model number and manual. OTR units differ in size, mounting requirements, clearance guidance and venting options. Avoid relying on a product photo or approximate dimensions alone.
Review the cabinet and wall
Provide a wide photo of the range and cabinets plus a view inside the cabinet above the opening if safe and accessible. Mention the wall type if known and any previous mounting or appliance changes. Do not remove the existing unit to prepare a quote.
Describe the venting arrangement
The appliance may use a recirculating configuration or connect to an exhaust duct, depending on the model and home. Share what is already present and what the manufacturer documentation says. New ductwork, cabinet alterations or electrical changes require separate scope review.
Prepare for access
Clear the cooking area and tell us about stairs, parking, elevators and building rules. Keep brackets and supplied parts with the manual. A second person or special lifting arrangements may be needed for some equipment; this can be considered when scope is confirmed.
Request an OTR microwave review
Send model and installation-space photos through the request form. See OTR microwave installation. Price and schedule depend on confirmed scope and availability.
